Don’t Blame It All on Panda!

For quite some time now, an alarming pattern has been occurring to some SEO marketers. The culprit? Panda update! It is causing extensive buzz among the stirred marketers as they blame Panda update every time they experience fluctuation in their search rankings. Low quality contents and content farming crackdown have been the results of Panda, especially during searches. The low quality contents are the ones populating the search engine’s top results. In search results, changes have been made and noticeable caused by algorithm change. But don’t worry, not everything has changed.

Google PandaThere are marketers who have noticed that their sites have fallen on the rankings because of Panda. However, there are cases that you need to look at first to be able to know what is really going on.

First Case

When you check on the Google Webmaster tools, warnings regarding spam violations are revealed. Panda update can possibly toughen up the spam checking, still, the violation is never involved on how the low quality contents get on the top results.

Second Case

There are companies who regretted their fates because of Panda. But due to their research and complex studies, they’ve found out that Bing can also be a reason for the fluctuation of their rankings. Although they are in a tad of confusion on what is happening, they know Google’s Panda is not the only one to blame.

You may see that both of these cases have something to point out. Change is inevitable even in search algorithms, and they are often not big changes. In fact, even if algorithms don’t change, your competitors do change, as well as their search rankings.

Another thing, people who got the top ranking for so long, three years for example, are so sure of themselves that they will not rank lower at all. They are so complacent that they will stay that way.

When a major change happened, it is better that you take actions all based on the data and facts and based on best practices. But there are people who gripe and throw their hands, instead of doing what is better. They must always think that your ranking will change for a period of time. There is no way for them to guarantee that spot.

People are into winning. And winning is not always about the ranking. Always think that it is not the ranking that truly matters. What matters most is giving the users the best information that they can give. And through that, you will be able to welcome your client.
